Some burdens grow heavier the longer we carry them through the night.

Hávamál 23 speaks to the person who lies awake turning the same worries over and over in his mind, only to greet the morning exhausted while the problems themselves remain unchanged.

It is an old observation of a very familiar human habit: worry can consume our strength without bringing us any closer to a solution.

This double-sided Hall Banner captures that restless solitude — a reminder that endless thought is not the same as useful action, and sometimes the troubles we carry into the night will still be there in the morning. The same artwork appears on both sides, allowing the lesson to be seen from either direction.

Featuring Hávamál 23 from the Henry Adams Bellows translation.

Designed for the home, hall, ritual space, gathering place, or anywhere the old wisdom still has a place.
